A little preparation before a holiday saves money and stress once you're there. Work through this checklist a few days before you leave.
1. Know where you're going
- Check the weather for your dates and pack for it, so you don't buy clothes on arrival.
- Read up on local dress norms, especially for religious sites.
- Save offline maps and your booking confirmations to your phone.
2. Protect what can break or leak
- Put liquids in sealed pouches, and keep cabin liquids under 100 ml each.
- Carry laptops, cameras and chargers in your cabin bag, never checked luggage.
- Use a padded camera insert or laptop sleeve inside your bag.
3. Travel organized
- Keep passport, tickets and cards in one place you can reach without unpacking.
- Pack the first night's essentials at the top, so you don't dig after a long journey.
